Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, coordinates and supervises the ongoing activities of the branch and performs a variety of Teller and MSR services to Credit Union members in conformance with established Credit Union policies, strategies and procedures.
This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Initial registration is required immediately upon hire into this position.
Key Job Requirements:
- Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union while performing all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines and Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Oversees the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager. Tellers report directly to the Assistant Branch Manager II and this position operates a cash drawer or cash recycler to provide teller line coverage, as applicable or needed.
- Accurately processes a variety of member transactions in accordance with cash handling procedures and policy (deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, etc). Balances cash, work and ensures proper documentation is signed and stamped at end of day.
- Serves as a Member Service Representative; actively cross-sells and provides information concerning Credit Union products and services in accordance with Credit Union policies. Troubleshoots and reconciles problems or complaints referred by members or employees.
- Opens various types of accounts, processes and closes online consumer loan applications for loans offered by the Credit Union. Processes Mortgage and Home Equity applications, and ensures documents are complete for submission to underwriters.
- Accountable for, in conjunction with Branch Manager, the annual audit requirements. Performs additional supervisory and audit functions including required annual audits. Responsible for, in partnership with the Branch Manager, adhering to and monitoring branch cash limits.
- Vault Certified and ensures that all vault operating and cash handling policies and procedures are followed. Manages the vault, including serving as the Vault Teller for a minimum of three months during the year.
- Performs transaction overrides, after completing Override Comprehension Training.
- Conducts “out of balance” cash drawer difference audits and resolves Teller errors. Records and tracks over/short cash differences and errors for direct reports (Tellers).
- Can open and close the branch. Assists with and responsible for supervising the daily set-up of the teller line and assigns teller operational responsibilities. Coordinates scheduling. Mentors others in developing skills to achieve individual and branch-specific goals. Initiates disciplinary action as warranted and completes required Performance Reviews.
- Manages and assists with Cash Recycler related duties; end of day balancing, maintaining cash limits, troubleshooting jams and schedules routine maintenance.
- Performs as a Notary Public and provides financial advice concerning loan options and features. May be required to become a Medallion Guarantee (STAMP Signer).
- Adheres to branch security practices and guidelines (secures station, keys, combinations, key-card and member information), and regulatory compliance. Keeps abreast of ongoing changes, specific to job knowledge, through the use of comprehension exercises, questionnaires and the GOLD/BVS (Greylock Online Learning and Development) courses.
- Provides ongoing procedural training for CORE updates, Sales, Product Knowledge, Security Practices and Regulatory Compliance. Facilitates frequent coaching sessions to enhance and inspire staff development.
- Promotes the Credit Union wherever and whenever possible. Encouraged to actively represent the Credit Union in local civic, community and professional organizations.

Position Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent plus specialized training and coursework.
- Preferred: Minimum of three-year’s experience in a Teller capacity.
- Preferred: Progressive experience in Member Service or Teller Supervisor Roles.
- Preferred: Supervisory and loan origination experience.
- Demonstrates a positive, professional communication style and quality member service, with effective organizational and interpersonal skills, while meeting assigned deadlines.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred: Good working knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
- Preferred: A strong understanding of compliance regulations adhered to in a branch network.
- Perform as a team player, displaying a positive and professional attitude toward members and co-workers.
- Ability to use various types of office equipment, including office software, spread sheet applications, adding machines, cash recyclers and PC proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for a long period of time.
Supervisory Scope: Supervise, coach and mentor full and part-time employees.
Lending Authority: As approved by the Board of Directors.
The salary range for this role is $52,427.00 to $68,155.00. This is the salary range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more than the posted range for exceptionally qualified individuals. An employee’s pay position within the pay band will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience (job and life), skills (specific and transferable), seniority, performance, and business organizational needs. This range may also be modified in the future.
