The Hudson Area Library invites youth ages 12+ to participate in an experimental film making workshop presented by Spark Media Project on Saturday: Aug. 13, from 12-4pm. After discussing poetry and the imagery it invokes, youth have the opportunity to write an original poem and learn to interpret one of their own favorites. They’ll use film imagery and voiceovers to bring poetry to life. By the end of the class, participants will have their own animated poem! In addition to being fun and creative experiences, this workshop will help develop teens’ understanding of digital media including their ability to critique media. The Hudson Area Library and Spark Media Project share in the goal of providing youth not only with every opportunity to explore their talents, passions, and futures, but also to look at media critically. Space is limited and registration is required. To register for these workshops, please contact Spark Media Project at 845.485.4480 or register online at http://sparkmediaproject.org/registration/. This free youth arts workshop is made possible in part with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts administered through the Community Arts Grants Program by the Greene County Council on the Arts.
