Thursday 6/17 6:30pm & 9pm Friday 6/18 6:30pm & 9pm Sat 6/19 4pm, 6:30pm & 9 pm Sun 6/20 11am & 5pm From writer / director Kuro Tanino and his company Niwa Gekidan Penino, The Dark Master tells the story of a young man who stumbles into a Japanese diner and unexpectedly is given a job by the owner to run the establishment. The owner mysteriously disappears, but hands the young man an earpiece so he can give him instructions and remain a voice inside the young man's head... The Dark Master is a disturbing contemporary vision of thought control and the manipulation of desire through visual storytelling, this time brought to life through Virtual Reality headsets for the live audience, who will be able to virtually take a seat at the counter in the diner, creating an absolutely immersive theatre experience. The U.S. premiere of The Dark Master is co-presented with the Japan Society, NYC.
