Join us at the Hudson Area Library for the opening of Angela Robins’ The Ash Tree Seating Project, an exhibition of chairs made from a single standing dead ash tree from Columbia County. This program will explore the impact of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) on regional ash trees, efforts to identify and preserve EAB-resistant trees, and the traditional craft of chair making. Hands-on woodworking activities will be available for all attendees, followed by a free workshop to build a tiny three-legged stool, limited to 12. All materials will be provided. (For the workshop, youth ages 10 – 16 are invited to participate with an adult.) A handful of white ash saplings will also be available to adopt.
