Millay inspired many people with her nature poetry. She especially loved birds and kept a detailed account of the comings and goings of them at Steepletop in a little bird guide book. This passion inspired the charming memoir of her life, Indigo Bunting, by Vincent Sheean, published in 1951. To honor Millay’s legacy, we have once again asked Larry Federman from the Audubon Society to conduct a bird walk here at Steepletop. We hope to inspire our visitors to learn more about birds and help to protect the wildlife and the magnificent habitat that surrounds us. Please join us. Bring your binoculars and hiking attire. We will gather at the Visitors Center at Tamarack Cottage by 7:15 am for this adventure. In case of rain, event will be rescheduled. Cancellations will be posted on our website Events page and our Facebook page. For more information or to make a reservation call 518-392-3362 or email at info@millay.org
