The Hudson Area Library invites youth ages 12+ to participate in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Filmmaking Free workshop presented by Spark Media Project on Saturday: Aug. 27, from 12-4pm. Teens will learn the basics of the sci-fi/fantasy genres, and filmmaking processes such as scripting, storyboarding, and camerawork. Students will also learn the basics of using special effects to give them superpowers in their own digital world! In addition to being fun and creative experiences, this workshop will help develop teens’ understanding of digital media including their ability to critique media. The Hudson Area Library and Spark Media Project share in the goal of providing youth not only with every opportunity to explore their talents, passions, and futures, but also to look at media critically. Space is limited and registration is required. To register for these workshops, please contact Spark Media Project at 845.485.4480 or register online at http://sparkmediaproject.org/registration/. This free youth arts workshop is made possible in part with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts administered through the Community Arts Grants Program by the Greene County Council on the Arts.
