The Hudson Area Library’s Nonfiction Book Group will meet on Monday, February 24 to discuss Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. The Nonfiction Book Group meets monthly on Mondays, 6-7:30pm, and focuses on history, and social and political life in North America. The group is facilitated by library Board President Mark Orton. To register for the book group, email morton@hudsonarealibrary.org. From Kirkus Reviews: “A distinguished NYU law professor and MacArthur grant recipient offers the compelling story of the legal practice he founded to protect the rights of people on the margins of American society. Stevenson began law school at Harvard knowing only that the life path he would follow would have something to do with [improving] the lives of the poor.” “Emotionally profound, necessary reading.” This book is available for borrowing through the Mid-Hudson Library System. The Hudson Area Library is located at 51 North Fifth Street in Hudson, NY. The mission of the library is to enrich the quality of life by providing free and equal access to programs, services and resources, and by creating opportunities for all members of our community to connect, create, learn and grow.
