Building Capacity to Help New Americans Access Vital Services through the NYS Office for New Americans and Columbia County Sanctuary Movement The NYS Office for New Americans (ONA) Ramirez June Initiative is a first of its kind in the nation. The initiative builds capacity to support new Americans with developmental disabilities and their families to access vital resources, information, and services. ONA, created in 2012, welcomes immigrants and helps them in achieving their American Dream through its statewide network of community-based providers. Learn more about New York’s new American communities, the languages they speak, and their accessibility needs. Additionally, Diana Cruz Co-Executive Director of the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement will present on pathways to employment for people immigrating to the US, and ways employers, organizations, and communities can engage and support their transition into the workforce
