Hudson Area Library, in collaboration with Prison Public Memory Project, is pleased to invite you to join lecturer and author Alexandra Cox as she discusses youth incarceration in the Hudson Valley and the recent release of her book Trapped in a Vice: the Consequences of Confinement for Young People, published by Rutgers University Press (2018). The book explores the consequences of a juvenile justice system that is aimed at promoting change in the lives of young people, yet ultimately relies upon tools and strategies that enmesh them in a system that they struggle to move beyond.
