The Hudson Area Library proudly presents a PuppeTree performance of the classic children’s book Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina. The Vermont-based theater workshop and puppet company, PuppeTree, will perform an updated puppet production of Caps for Sale that celebrates diversity by repeating the classic tale several times with puppets from a variety of world cultures – Africa, India, Estonia, and the Middle East. The library is pleased to welcome PuppeTree back after their wonderful performance last summer of Leo Lionni’s Swimmy, another children’s book classic. PuppeTree’s mission is to promote an appreciation of the performing arts, with an emphasis on children’s theater and puppets, among diverse audiences. Children and families are sure to have a raucous good time with Caps for Sale’s tale of mischief. This special event will be on Tuesday, July 19 at 6pm in the library’s community room. Children of all ages and their families are invited. Refreshments will follow the puppet show.
