Be A Part of Our Mission

As the Benefits Specialist you will be responsible for assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, manages all insurance billing, maintains accurate employee data in HRIS system (Ultipro) and HR files, manages and administers various benefit programs including union and non-union benefit plans.


How Can You Help

  • Solid understanding of various benefit plans (retirement and health insurance) and relevant regulations in benefits administration.
  • Concrete HR knowledge in federal, state and local labor laws, as well as HR best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc and HRIS systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Benefit Plans, laws, and regulations to include ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Significantly demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion.
  • Requires a perceptive professional with the capability of relating to individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Emphasis on time management, quick response times and ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities. 
  • Strong project management and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced and energetic culture.
  • Highly effective in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Relationship management skills ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated written, oral, communication, presentation/facilitation skills.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Business, or related field of study
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Human Resources/Benefits administration experience preferably in a not-for-profit and/or child welfare industry.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems with a strong background in Payroll and Benefits software modules (Ultipro preferred).
  • CEBS, PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
  • A current, valid driver’s license is required. Local and regional travel is required daily
