The exhibit opening will be open to the public during the Athens Cultural Center's First Fridays series on the first Friday in October (October 4 @5:30 pm) and will feature performance artist\, Joseph Smith\, performing the Life of Augustin Fresnel\, who pioneered the use of "stepped" lenses to extend the visibility of lighthouses\, saving countless lives at sea.
