DESCRIPTION:The Nonfiction Book Group meets Mondays\, 6-7:30pm and is reading These Truths by Jill Lepore on September 9 (Parts One & Two) and October 7 (Parts 3 & 4). This book group focuses on history and social & political life in North America and is facilitated by library Board President Mark Orton. To register for the book group email morton@hudsonarealibrary.org. These Truths is a well-written challenging history by Harvard historian Jill Lepore who writes widely in the contemporary press about a broad range of topics. Andrew Sullivan of the New York Times writes in his review of These Truths: " It's a big sweeping book\, a way for us to take stock at this point in the journey\, to look back\, to remind us who we are and to point to where we're headed." These books are all available for borrowing through the Mid-Hudson Library System. The Hudson Area Library is located at 51 North Fifth Street in Hudson\, NY. The mission of the library is to enrich the quality of life by providing free and equal access to programs\, services and resources\, and by creating opportunities for all members of our community to connect\, create\, learn and grow.
