SUMMARY:Drawdown Learn: Teaching a Solutions-Based Approach to Climate Change\, Wine & Chees Reception
DESCRIPTION:Friends\, Can everyday people help reduce greenhouse gases and reverse global warming? A live screening on Friday\, Oct. 19 in Hudson\, N.Y. shows how it's both possible and practical. The live stream of "Drawdown Learn: Teaching a Solutions-Based Approach to Climate Change\," features environmentalist and entrepreneur Paul Hawken and other experts. The "Drawdown Learn" event\, organized by Citizens' Climate Lobby in collaboration with Spacesmith architect Wendy Wisbrun and presented by Omega Center for Sustainable Living\, details what is called "perhaps the most unexpected and hopeful development in the critical effort to reverse global warming." The live stream and refreshments take place at the Hudson Area Library in Hudson\, N.Y. In the live video presentation\, Project Drawdown's executive director Hawken will highlight findings of this global coalition organized with a singular goal: to reverse global warming. In 2017\, the group mapped\, measured and modeled the 100 most substantive solutions to reach "drawdown\," the point in time when atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases start to decline. Following Hawken's overview\, a panel discussion with Project Drawdown's expert team will lay out next steps in developing the tools\, training and curriculum needed to help communities join the fight for climate action around the world. The workshop offers new ways to understand climate change and new opportunities for making a positive impact.
